How many views and followers do you need to make money onTikTok?
The hurdle to earning money directly from TikTok was substantially higher before December 2021. You needed to be at least 18 years old (which is still the case! ), have more than 10,000 followers, and receive at least 100,000 video views in the previous 30 days in order to monetize your account.
You might be able to apply for the TikTok Creator Fund if you meet those requirements. It's not as simple as declaring "1,000 views = $X" because the payment-per-view data have never been made public. Roughly speaking, it's predicted that after you've joined the Creator Fund, you can earn between two and three cents for every 1,000 views.
Payments, however, vary according on the quantity and reliability of views, the degree of interaction with the videos, and whether or not the material complies with TikTok's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
For a period, the Creator Fund served as the primary passive revenue stream for well-known TikTok content creators. Then along came Creator Next.
How does Creator Next work?
End of 2021 saw TikTok roll out a new function. It's a monetization center by the name of Creator Next, and it consolidates all of the TikTok revenue-generating opportunities under one roof. You must be at least 18 years old and have three posts with at least 1,000 views each in the previous 30 days in order to be eligible.
Once you're signed up for Creator Next, there are more options outside Creator Fund to make money off of your TikTok account.
Creator Next provides:
TikTok gives out "Diamonds" as LIVE gifts depending on the success of artists' LIVE videos, which users may subsequently swap for real money. During LIVE videos, viewers may also LIVE Gift their preferred content producers, which can then be exchanged for actual, hard cash. Any TikTok user who is over 18 and enrolled in Creator Next is eligible to receive LIVE Gifts. This functionality was available before Creator Next.
With video gifts, instead of LIVE videos, producers may earn diamonds based on how many people watch their brief films. Like on LIVE videos, viewers may also send gifts. A creator must have at least 100,000 followers, a 30-day-old account, and a recent public video in order to be considered.
TikTok Creator Marketplace: Through this official gateway, creators have the opportunity to interact and work with brands on both compensated and incentive-based campaigns. If you have more than 10,000 followers, you may apply to join the Creator Marketplace, which brands will invite directly.
How to get paid on TikTok
What other ways are there on TikTok to earn paid? There were several ways for TikTokers to make money before Creator Next. You could (and still can!) promote your own merchandise, point users to gated content on another site like Patreon, build and sell accounts, or work as a TikTok consultant for companies in addition to Creator Fund.
Brand alliances also existed before Creator Next, of course. The TikTok Creator Marketplace only makes facilitation simpler! The percentage of US marketers expecting to utilize TikTok for influencer marketing increased from 16% to 68% between 2019 and 2021, demonstrating the platform's increasing viability. Brand-sponsored videos on the site can earn up to $1,000 if they get 100,000 views.
How else can you make money on TikTok?
There are more methods to monetize TikTok than Creator Next, despite it being promoted as the preferred piggy bank. Let's look at those possibilities below.
Utilize TikTok to promote your goods and services.
You may always create TikToks to showcase your goods and services if you want to attempt earning money as a creator and have your own stuff to sell.
How much money can you make on TikTok?
You now know how to monetize your TikTok account. How far does this thing actually go, though? Let's briefly review the highest-paid users on TikTok in 2022.

- Charli D’Amelio earns an estimated $17.5 million per year, thanks to her massive following, binge-worthy dance clips, and sponsorship deals with everyone from Hollister to Dunkin’ Donuts.
- Addison Rae rakes in around $8.5 million every year. She’s packing a whole host of merch, bespoke makeup products, and deals with Reebok, American Eagle and more. Her newfound music and acting careers probably help, too.
